Artificial intelligence is no longer an experiment for Ukrainian businesses — today it is becoming an integral part of production, logistics, and energy processes. Forbes spoke with Valentyn Vyntu, Chief Data Management & AI Officer at MODUS X, about practical results and development plans.
"We actively apply AI to forecast grid load in real time, taking into account weather conditions, consumption patterns, and generation from renewable energy sources. This helps smooth out peak loads, reduce the risk of outages, and provides dispatchers with algorithm-based recommendations for power redistribution," said Valentyn Vyntu.
He also emphasized the role of AI in optimizing maintenance. By analyzing historical sensor data and equipment wear indicators, MODUS X can predict potential failures, optimize maintenance schedules, and improve grid reliability.
According to Vyntu, MODUS X is implementing a strategic program to scale AI solutions across the entire energy system. The company is building a unified AI architecture and platform to centrally manage the lifecycle of solutions and replicate successful use cases across all businesses in the holding.
Special attention is given to data security: the environment for creating and testing models is isolated from the environment with “live” data; deep anonymization is applied; system access is strictly controlled; and multi-factor authentication is used. Before launching any AI service, MODUS X performs vulnerability assessments and protects infrastructure with advanced monitoring systems.
In addition, the company is improving the efficiency of field technicians with mobile workstations: tasks, routes, and access to digital technical passports are delivered directly to their tablets or smartphones. MODUS X is also testing an AI Copilot that assists in real time by retrieving necessary diagrams or instructions, even via voice request.
