Hybrid Multicloud: A Path to Business Resilience, Agility, and Speed

Why are hybrid and multi-cloud architectures becoming the standard for Ukrainian businesses, and how do they help?

In an interview with dev.ua, Denis Garkaviy, Head of Infrastructure at MODUS X, shared why hybrid and multicloud architectures are becoming the standard for Ukrainian businesses and how they help increase the speed, flexibility, and reliability of IT solutions.

“Today, the multicloud strategy is a global trend. Forbes predicts that both hybrid and multicloud models will remain in focus and become the new reality,” Denis notes.

According to him, on-premises infrastructure ensures stability but limits flexibility, while the cloud offers scalability and innovation opportunities — from low-code platforms to built-in analytics. The optimal approach is to combine both formats within a hybrid multicloud architecture, which MODUS X helps implement for major clients, including DTEK.

“A hybrid cloud makes it possible to deploy solutions quickly, meeting the business’s demand for access to modern technologies,” he comments.

Denis pays particular attention to effective cost management through the FinOps approach, which emphasizes transparency of expenses, discounts for commitments, and efficient use of resources.

“The cloud is so flexible that it doesn’t forgive mistakes in autoscaling — limits, alerts, and regular monitoring are essential,” he adds.

Other topics covered in the interview include the use of Zero Trust in security, building a unified access policy through SASE/ZTNA solutions, the role of AI in detecting inefficient resource consumption and early failure signals, as well as the approach to digital sovereignty through data backup in three independent environments: the primary cloud, a cross-cloud, and an on-premises data center.

In conclusion, Garkaviy emphasizes that hybrid multicloud is not a passing trend but a mature strategic choice for businesses striving for managed flexibility, security, and transparent economics.
