DTEK Group has a large and well-developed geographically distributed IT infrastructure supporting a wide range of diverse services. This is driven by the presence of numerous locations, some of which do not have direct internet access, making a purely cloud-based service configuration impossible. To maintain the current level of service amid the planned growth in the number of company users (currently approximately 18,000) and to optimize resource utilization using modern technologies, a hybrid Active Directory configuration was designed and implemented. The solution is intended for efficient centralized management of user accounts.
Overall, during the implementation of the solution, the company was able to:
- Establish centralized resource management. AD enables centralized management of local resources, simplifying administrative tasks and reducing costs.
- Enhance security. By managing user access, AD helps protect sensitive data and resources from unauthorized access.
- Ensure flexibility and scalability. AD can handle millions of objects within a single domain, making it suitable for organizations of any size.
- Enable integration. Active Directory supports integration with on-premises and cloud systems and applications, providing flexibility and supporting the effective evolution of the IT infrastructure.
- Improve policy-based administration. Group Policy helps automate software deployment and enforce consistent policies across the organization.
