Digital Warehouse for DTEK Energy: Innovations in Logistics and Inventory Management

Logistics is the lifeblood of society and business, through which the vital flow of goods, services and information moves. Today, Ukraine is particularly keenly aware of its importance.

Modern logistics solutions help companies overcome complex challenges, improve operational efficiency and adapt quickly to changing market conditions.

DTEK Energy, in collaboration with the IT company MODUS X, has implemented the ‘Digital Warehouse’ solution, aimed at transforming procurement and warehouse logistics processes. The first facility to adopt this updated approach to warehouse management was the timber processing base of PJSC ‘DTEK Pavlogradvugillya’.

The ‘Digital Warehouse’ solution utilises a range of modern technologies:

• The Internet of Things (IoT) — sensors and devices collect information about goods and their storage conditions
• Barcodes and RFID — enable accurate tracking of goods within the warehouse
• Cloud computing — provides access to up-to-date data at any time and from various devices

The digital tool has made it possible to link automatic photographic recording of vehicles and cargo to the documentation for consignments of timber and sawn timber. This is expected to help reduce tax risks by 4.4 million UAH per year, whilst the economic benefit from more efficient logistics planning will amount to a further 400,000 UAH.

The new approach enhances the transparency of warehouse operations thanks to a system of personalised notifications and real-time updates on the status of goods receipt. The integration of the DIGITAL PIN digital signature with the ‘Vchasno’ service enables online monitoring of incoming flows and simplifies document management.

Modern businesses need to respond quickly and effectively to customer needs, which is why the demands placed on logistics and warehousing processes are constantly increasing. A ‘digital warehouse’ enables automatic stock tracking, real-time operational management and a reduction in errors. This approach is relevant to both the B2C and B2B sectors.
